San Francisco Jazz Center

Architect's rendering of SFJAZZ

SFJAZZ is planning a 35,000 sf building - a 700-person auditorium, with rehearsal hall, digital laboraratory, black-box theater (also see Ronald Frink Architects - Geffen Playhouse - for more information regarding black-box theater) and restaurant.
The new jazz center's location will be at 205 Franklin Street, within San Francisco's Hayes Valley district. The building is designed by local SF architect, Mark Cavagnero and is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification.
The project was originally started with an anonymous donation of 20 million dollars and underway is a 60 million dollar capitol campaign to raise money for the construction of the building and SFJAZZ endowment.
