A SMALL GARDEN GROWS IN SILVERLAKE - Update
Vegetable Patch
May 22, 2010 (see posts: March 31, April 11 and May 3, 2010)
Developing a garden requires patience and tolerance. Plants from seed need constant moisture until they sprout. And plants from the nursery must be treated like welcomed house guests - their places prepared and ready for occupancy. Aged plants, both edible and ornamental, must be respected. They have earned their right to position and distinction in the garden.
So, we water and feed. We watch and enjoy. We take pleasure in knowing this is our creation and all is perfect in our world.
Zucchini Blossoms, ready for stuffing
String beans, young and tender
Baby arugula, mild and nutty
Blue Nile Lillies about to blossom
Succulents in bright blue pots
Many baby cucumbers, too young for picking
Eggplant flowering
Lettuce, several heads already made into salads
