From Roses to Vegetables

FROM ROSES TO VEGETABLES
A Garden Grows in Silverlake
In May our roses usually begin their seasonal bloom cycle. We feed them frequently throughout summer and into early fall.  A dozen tomato plants of various varieties were planted near our garden wall for maximum sunlight and warmth. And green beans grow along a path. Several zucchini plants are just beginning and one of two sweet peppers is already showing small fruit. Of course, plenty of basil is growing - some from seed and about six small plants purchased from our local nursery.
As we've stated before, our garden provides us with visual pleasure, edible treats, relaxation and comfort throughout the year. We will look forward to many warm summer days, when most of our living occurs outdoors!
