Perhaps the most revealing statement made by Ms. Kusumoto, more than any other is this: "In all of my work there is always the insistence on skill and craftsmanship."

Although the artist works in several mediums, including resin and metal, the work that stands out for me, is her fiber work - where worlds exist within worlds, in the diaphanous midst of sea-creature-like forms. 

Color, in all its gradations, subtle, warm. cool and neutral, astonishes mind and elevates our spirit.
